Pochettino reveals potential Dele Alli return date

Tottenham Hotspur have been without Dele Alli for over six weeks now, and fans will be keen to see the midfield man back out on the pitch.

Spurs had been doing well without their star men Alli and Harry Kane, not dropping a single Premier League point in their absences.

However, since Kane returned, Spurs have dropped eight points in the League through losses to Burnley and Chelsea and a draw at Wembley in the North London Derby.

At times there has been a real lack of link up play and creativity between the midfield and the front line, something that Dele Alli could make all the difference with.

The England man is superb at bridging the gap between midfielders and strikers by sitting in little pockets of space and carrying the ball, or threading it through to the likes of Kane and Son.

Pochettino told Football London tonight that Alli could return against Southampton on Saturday.

He said: “Dele is close we will see if it is possible to for Saturday to be involved with the team against Southampton?”
