Pochettino reveals that Tottenham player will now be out for ‘many weeks’

Tottenham Hotspur had a fantastic time in Germany this pre-season as they defeated Real Madrid in the semis and Bayern Munich in the final to lift the Audi Cup.

While all the pictures were of Moussa Sissoko and his teammates lifting the trophy, there was some bad news for Tottenham on the pitch.

In the midst of a debate as to whether Juna Foyth or Kyle Walker-Peters would be the starting right-back for the early portion of the Prem season, the former saw his hopes crushed.

Foyth went down off the ball when preparing to defend a cross, seemingly twisting his ankle in the process.

While the 21-year-old attempted to hobble off the pitch, he eventually dropped down again and was taken away on a stretcher.

The initial images did not look too promising for the Argentine, and Pochettino has now confirmed the worst for Spurs fans.

Poch says that they need to wait for an update over the next few days, but Foyth will definitely be out for many weeks .s

He said (Football London): “With Juan, I think the medical staff are going to update in the next few days. I cannot say more because I don’t know exactly how much time. For sure it’s a tough injury and for sure it is many weeks he is going to be out. We hope he can recover as soon as possible.”
