Pochettino reveals where Aurier, Wanyama, and Dier were today

Tottenham Hotspur are now just under a week away from walking out to another Premier League season, as they look to improve upon their fourth-place finish last time out.

Spurs have enjoyed a largely successful pre-season campaign, with wins over some of Europe’s finest, such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Juventus.

However, Spurs came unstuck on penalties today as they lost to Inter Milan following a 1-1 match after 90 minutes.

While a number of the Spurs first team look fit and ready to go, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela in particular, there were some absentees through injury today.

Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, and Eric Dier have not yet been seen in any pre-season matches, as they all missed the Asia Tour and the Audi Cup squad.

Aurier and Wanyama were competing at the African Cup of Nations, before picking up injuries, and Eric Dier has been suffering from a medical issue that was detected on the first day of pre-season training.

Poch has now revealed that they are short in their preparation (Football London): “Serge, Victor and Dier they were at the training ground, for different reasons they are short in their preparation. Rather than play today it was important to train and to try to be fit as soon as possible.”
