Pochettino reveals whether Son is fit enough to play on Wednesday

Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of their second domestic cup in four days this evening, as they lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fourth round.

Spurs were denied a League Cup final by Chelsea in mid-week, after the two-legged tie went to a penalty shootout.

Pochettino has been without Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Heung Min Son for these matches, his three top goal scorers this season.

Kane and Alli are expected to be out until early March, but Son’s absence always depended on how well South Korea did in the Asia Cup.

Fortunately for Spurs, Qatar managed to beat the Asia Games champions 1-0 in the quarter finals, meaning that Son actually returned to London earlier than expected, and trained this morning.

Despite him being fatigued from the international tournament, Pochettino has revealed that he will be available to play a part on Wednesday in the Premier League.

Poch said (Football London): “Yes, yes. Today we were with him on the training ground in the morning. He’s so tired, he played three games. Very tough games. Of course not too much energy today, but we hope he’ll be available and ready on Wednesday to help the team.”
