Pochettino reveals whether Vertonghen and Dembele are fit to face Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur take on Chelsea tomorrow night in the first leg of their League Cup semi final.

Both teams will be looking to book a place in the final over the two legs, starting at Wembley at 8pm on Tuesday.

Last time the two sides faced, Spurs ran away as 3-1 winners at the national stadium, a win that really kick started their impressive festive form.

Spurs have been struggling with first team injuries ever since the first ball was kicked this season, and that hasn’t changed as we enter the January transfer window.

The likes of Lucas Moura, Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, Vincent Janssen, and Luke Amos are still on the side lines with their respective injuries.

However, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele made their returns to training last week, offering up a potential boost for the Carabao Cup semi.

However, Pochettino has now ruled out that these two will even be in the squad, yet alone featuring in the match.

When asked both of these questions, Poch simply replied (Football London): “No.”
