Pochettino reveals who he would like Tottenham to play in the Champions League final

Tottenham Hotspur have equalled their best ever run in the Champions League by reaching the quarter finals this season.

The last time they achieved such a thing was back in 2011 under Harry Redknapp, with players such as Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, and Rafa Van der Vaart.

Spurs will now be hoping to make history by booking their place in the semi finals, but they will have to progress past Man City over two legs to do so.

City are hungry to make some history of their own by winning the quadruple this season, after having already won the League Cup, being in the semis of the FA Cup, and one of the favourites for the Premier League.

However, Mauricio Pochettino seems confident, as he even spoke about who he would want to play in the final this week.

Perhaps a nod to his Espanyol days, it seems the Argentine wants the chance to get one over on Barcelona.

He said (Mundo Deportivo – quoted by the Standard): “I would sign [on] for playing the final against Barca. If there is a favorite team to win the Champions League, it is Barcelona.

“They have excellent, extraordinary footballers, not just Leo Messi who is a genius and the best in the world.

“Leo does things that nobody expects, but what surprises most is his regularity, his consistency. Every three or four days, during the last eleven or twelve years.
