Pochettino reveals why he is disappointed

Tottenham Hotspur would have entered this season with the aim of breaking records and proving their doubters wrong, however, they may not have been aiming for this particular stat.

Spurs became the first ever Premier League side not to sign a single new player in an entire season after the January window shut yesterday.

That makes Tottenham’s last signing Lucas Moura from PSG, who signed over a year ago.

Spurs did have outgoings this month two, with Mousa Dembele going to China, and Nkoudou on loan to Monaco.

This leaves Pochettino’s squad, already considered a little sparse, even thinner for the rest of the season.

With the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane out injured, many expected Spurs to dip into the transfer market for a new forward, but alas, Tottenham will have to make do with what they have.

Pochettino expressed his disappointment in the situation in today’s press conference.

Poch said (Football London):”I am a person that is so happy and trying to help the progress of the club. I said in the last presser not always my idea is the same as the club’s or the chairman’s or the people that are in the club.

“In the moment that we take some decision because sometimes we are forced, I wanted to strengthen the squad but if we cannot strengthen and cannot sign I need to stick and be with the progress of the club.

“I am disappointed because we are in a good position and with more help from some players we can not use the excuse we aren’t a real contender. We will dream we will fight until the end to be as high as we can.”
