Pochettino reveals why Ndombele was taken off – bad news for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur fell to yet another 1-1 draw this weekend in the Premier League to follow the same result a week ago against Everton.

This time around, Spurs went 1-0 up against Sheffield United, who then fought back to take a well-deserved point away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In truth, Sheffield were the better side from start to finish, which was reflected in the table before kick-off as Spurs were down in 11th and the Blades up in sixth.

While Heung Min Son put the Lilywhites ahead in the second half via a fortunate deflected effort, Sheffield went on to score two, with one being ruled out harshly by VAR.

This is the third match in a row in the Premier League that Spurs have dropped points from a winning position.

To make matters even worse, Pochettino has now revealed that Tanguy Ndombele was taken off at half time due to an injury.

He said (Football London): “Strange that Tanguy Ndombele never felt comfortable in the game and I think that affected us. We changed him for Harry Winks.

We need to assess him. He felt pain in his groin. We don’t know if it happened before or during the game but he said he was ok to play during the game. Then he came off at half-time and the doctor said to me that can’t play. I think it affected the team.”
