Pochettino speaks on Kieran Trippier injury

Tottenham Hotspur secured a very important win away to Crystal Palace last night, with Juan Foyth the only scorer in the 1-0 victory.

As soon as the young Argentine nodded home his first goal for the club, every Spurs player surrounded him with hugs and beaming smiles.

However, it wasn’t all smiles for Spurs last night, as right-back Kieran Trippier added his name to the long list of Tottenham injuries.

The full back appeared to go down off the ball early on in the first half, and after a minute or two on the ground, he limped off to be substituted for Serge Aurier.

The club have not confirmed what exactly the injury was, but pictures suggest it was some kind of hamstring related issue.

Trippier was called up to Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad last week, but it remains to be seen whether he will be forced to pull out.

Mauricio Pochettino spoke on the injury after the match at Selhurst Park.

The Evening Standard report he said: “I hope it is not a big issue, we don’t know [if he can play for England].

“We need to see, the doctors and medical staff will assess him and then the medical staff of England and they will see if he’s going to be involved or not.”
