Pochettino spells out what Spurs need to do to win the title

After three consecutive Premier League wins against Fulham, Watford and Newcastle, Tottenham find themselves just five points off the summit of the table.

With Spurs still needing to face both Manchester City and Liverpool before the end of the season, the Lillywhites cannot be ruled out of the title race just yet.

The fact that Spurs are within touching distance of the summit of the league at this point is in itself a fantastic achievement given the injury problems they have faced this season, along with the ongoing uncertainty around the move-in date to their new stadium.

Further, Tottenham are the only team in Europe’s top five leagues to have not added a single player to their squad over the last calendar year. For these reasons, if Spurs were to somehow win the title, it would be an unbelievable achievement given the circumstances.

When asked what Spurs needed to do to keep their title aspirations alive, Pochettino said that Tottenham need to win all of their remaining games.

Speaking to Football.London, the Argentine said, “To win the title we need to win all the games.

“I think it still isn’t sure that you will win the title because I think there is a five point gap still with the top and the idea is to try and win and go step by step. For us the most important game is Sunday.”
