What Pochettino said after the Stoke defeat

Mauricio Pochettino admitted that his Tottenham Hotspur side were poor in their embarrassing 3-0 defeat at Stoke City and felt that his players performed better following the sending off of Vlad Chiriches.

It was arguably our worst performance of the season, no drive or desire was evident from the players along with some head scratching decisions from Pochettino, including the decision not to replace the liability which is Chiriches once he had picked up his booking. It seemed logicial to bring on Yedlin for the Romanian and move Dier into the heart of the back four, why didn’t Poch see this?

Below is a video from the post-match presser, take a look at what Poch had to say after the game.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. The worry is that he does nothing about it either during the game or preparing and naming the team for the next game. Our season was finished after the capital cup they have stopped playing since then so it was time to blood others and particularly some of the youngsters. If we finished mid table then so be it, and if we miss out on the euro lots of fans will be happy but I for one will not.

  2. He picked the same team even though they have not been playing well for the past few games. How can he complain and not blame himself? Losing is one thing, but the trend is looking more like Juande Ramos's reign…

  3. How can anybody say that Pochettino is a better manager than A.V.B. or Tim Sherwood. Just look what they are achieving at other clubs. This season is turning into our worst for years. Best wishes also to Jimmy Greaves who played when we had a good team.
