Pochettino talks about how Ryan Sessegnon can become a star at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur managed to sign a number of up-and-coming stars in the summer transfer window, including young Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.

Unfortunately, Sessegnon was injured when Spurs bought him, so he has yet to feature for the North London club.

However, Tottenham did officially confirm that the player has recovered from his injury and is now training this week.

Hopefully, this will be the first step towards a debut for the teenager, who can play as either a left-winger or a left-back.

Pochettino has been talking about the ex-Fulham starlet and Tottenham as a platform today, stating that he hopes Spurs can be the ideal place to turn Sess into a star.

The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, and many more were all given a stage and opportunities at Spurs from a young age, and look at them now.

Poch believes that with hard work, training, and luck, Sessegnon could do the same (Standard): “Ryan’s season [last term] shows that you can be a very good player, but you need a platform, team-mates and good coaching staff to help you.

“And then you need time, luck, training hard and hard work. Sometimes people don’t realise that for a player with talent, to be successful you need a platform. And Tottenham, I hope, will provide Ryan with that platform.

“It’s the platform that provided for Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Harry Winks and other players who were very successful in their moment. I hope that happens with him, too, because he’s a great talent.”
