Pochettino waiting for his invite onto Joe Lewis’ boat after rare owner stadium visit

Tottenham Hotspur got off to a winning start at their brand new stadium last night, beating Crystal Palace 2-0 on a snowy Wednesday night.

The weather threw up surprises on the final game at White Hart Lane, with a rainbow painting the sky above the stadium, and this time around fans were treated to hail and snow.

However, nothing could dampen the spirits of the Spurs faithful who were in awe of the new stadium packed out to the rafters.

There was also one extremely high profile names among the attendees in Spurs owner Joe Lewis, a man who rarely visits the country, yet alone the stadium.

However, what seemed strange was that no one had informed Mauricio Pochettino that Lewis was there last night, and it took a reported to give the Argentine the heads up.

Poch went on to joke that he would be waiting for an invite onto Lewis’ boat to play pilot.

Poch said (Football London): “He’s here? I don’t know. I saw Daniel before the game. Nobody said to me he’s here. If I have the possibility to say hello of course I will. If he invites me to his new boat to play pilot then okay!”
