Pochettino wants the hectic schedule to continue

Tottenham Hotspur have gifted their fans with the greatest Christmas present of all, sensational form across all competitions.

Spurs have now won four Premier League games on the bounce, as well as six games at Wembley in a row.

They qualified for the semi-finals of the League Cup by seeing off their rivals Arsenal, and overtook City in the Premier League in style.

Tottenham thrashed Everton 6-2 at Goodison Park just before Christmas, following it up with a 5-0 win against Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Whether it’s Pochettino’s favoured squad rotation, or the impressive fitness regime in place at Spurs, the club always seems to do well when the fixtures come thick and fast.

Now, Pochettino doesn’t want the hectic schedule to finish, as his side are adapting to it better than most.

Only Liverpool remain above Spurs in the League, and they face upcoming matches against both Arsenal and Man City, so Tottenham could make up more ground yet.

Poch said (Football London): “Yes, very happy. If we are capable to keep the momentum it is good to have a lot of games to play every two or three days.

“When you build that confidence and trust, it is important to show it in the competition. In the same way when you are not in a good period or momentum you need time and if it arrives the games quickly then you always struggle to change the dynamic.

“To keep the momentum and not change to much and do the thing we need to do to help the player to recover the energy to be ready to compete every single game and be right in our decision how we help the team, adding fresh legs in the right moment.”
