Pochettino’s son sends message on social media after his father’s sacking

Tottenham decided to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff last week after five and a half years at the club.

The Argentine gained great plaudits for what he managed to achieve during his time at the club but the performances and results this calendar year were poor.

While the Champions League run papered over the cracks last season, the team were languishing in the 14th spot in the table, thus forcing the club’s hand.

Pochettino’s son, Sebastiano Pochettino who was the head of the club’s sports science team, also left the club following his father’s dismissal.

However, another of his sons, Maurizio Pochettino, who plays for the U-23s, has remained with the club. The 18-year-old moved to the club from Southampton in 2015 and signed his first professional contract with Spurs this summer.

Maurizio took to social media for the first time since his father’s sacking to send a message to the fans:

It does look like Maurizio is keen to move on from the disappointment of his dad’ sacking and focus on his football. He certainly seems to be a talent and it is good to see that the club has decided to hang on to him. It would be really nice to see him break into the first team in the coming years but that is going to be extremely hard for the 18-year-old.
