Poch’s gushing over Kane making wife jealous

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino admits he loves Harry Kane so much his wife has grown jealous, after his in-form hitman scored his ninth career hat-trick to dispatch of Apoel in last nights Champions League encounter.

It was his first Champions League treble and ninth overall for the club. Dortmund’s defeat to Real Madrid has left us in a solid position in Group H after the second round of matches.

Luck was certainly on our side as Apoel held no fear, helped by a rather lively home crowd, but Kane’s low drive on 37 minutes turned the game and we were deserved winners in the end.

Kane’s treble mean he becomes the seventh English player to score a Champions League hat-trick joining a list of stars including Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. Not bad for our ‘one season wonder’.

Pochettino had said he was “in love” with Kane after the attacker’s double at the weekend (in a 3-2 Win at West Ham) words he says that are not lost on Mrs Pochettino either.

“Now my wife is so jealous — and his wife too,” Pochettino said with a smile. “No, I think it’s unbelievable. You know, it’s Harry Kane.

“He has unbelievable skills in front of goal. He has something special. That is why he is one of the best.

“All the strikers that have this type of level they have something special in front of goals. They are killers. Harry has this special skill.

Spurs travel to Real Madrid next month in a match that inevitable comparisons between Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo will surface but Pochettino refused to stoke the fire.

“Cristiano is fantastic, one of the best,” Pochettino said. “Harry is one of the best and will get better because he’s so young. I cannot joke about that because both are fantastic.

“Both are the type of players you want in your team, in the same team.”

We will head to Spain next month in good spirits, the lads will certainly challenge Zidane’s superstars but the will also be aware dropping points, though not ideal, will not be disastrous.

On facing Bale and Co. next, the Spurs manager said “We are going to play against the best team in the world because I think Real Madrid are the best right now,”
