Despite the turmoil at Tottenham over recent weeks, Pedro Porro has insisted that he does not regret moving to the club in January, remarking that he aims to become successful in North London.
Antonio Conte’s tirade against his own squad has hit the headlines across world football, with the Spurs head coach accusing all of his players of being selfish and playing for themselves rather than the team (Football.London).
The Italian also seemed to suggest that Tottenham are used to failure over the last two decades, irrespective of which manager they have had in charge.
Reports over the last couple of days have indicated that Conte is going to pay with his job for his rant, with Daniel Levy expected to sack the 53-year-old by the end of this week (Telegraph).
When asked about Conte’s criticism of the Tottenham squad, Porro told The Guardian: “Pffff…Well, that’s his opinion. I’m not getting involved there. That’s not one for me.”
When quizzed on whether he is now second-guessing his decision to join Spurs in January, given all that has gone wrong at the club, the right-back responded: “No. I don’t think: ‘Where have I ended up?! What have I let myself in for?’ Not at all.”

The Spaniard said that he is now adapting to his new surroundings and insisted that he is confident of achieving success at N17 in the years to come.
When asked what his long-term plan is, Porro responded: “To play at Spurs, of course.
“I’m clear that what I want is to be a success for my team: that’s all I’m thinking about.
“We’re out of the cups and the last league game escaped us but I’m confident in myself and the team.
“We can sort it out, of course. Absolutely. And I feel better all the time.”

The only problem for Porro might be if Conte is replaced with a manager like Pochetitino or Enrique, who prefer playing with a back four rather than a back three.
That might be ideal for the Spaniard, who seems much better equipped to play as a wing-back than as a full-back.
