‘Possible hamstring problem’ – Journalist reveals Spurs player is to undergo scans today

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has revealed that there are concerns at Tottenham that Ryan Sessegnon might have injured the same muscle as he did prevuously after he came off with a hamstring problem against Everton.

Sessegnon kept his place in the starting eleven last night and once again demonstrated his qualities going forward, creating Tottenham’s opening goal with a dangerous cross from the byline, which was turned into his own net by Michael Keane.

However, the 21-year-old went down with an injury late in the first half and was replaced by Sergio Reguilon at half-time, with the Spaniard finding the back of the net within a minute of his introduction.

Antonio Conte admitted after the game that he was hopeful that the England Under-21 international’s problem was not serious and expressed his frustration at the youngster breaking down every time he seems like making progress (Football.London).

Thomas has now taken to social media to reveal that Sessegnon is undergoing scans today to assess his possible hamstring problem and suggested that there are fears that it could be the same injury as last time.

It would be a real shame if Sessegnon breaks down once again, given the signs of improvement he has shown over recent weeks. If the injury proves to be severe and the 21-year-old is ruled out for several weeks, I do fear for his Spurs career.
