Postecoglou reveals what he likes most about Radu Dragusin during Euros punditry

Ange Postecoglou thinks Tottenham are fortunate to have Radu Dragusin at the club, with the Romanian centre-back shining at the European Championships so far this summer.

Radu Dragusin is impressing at Euro 24

Spurs signed Dragusin from Genoa in the January transfer window, but the centre-back had to be patient with Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero ahead of him in the pecking order.

Dragusin started the final two Premier League matches of the season alongside Romero in the heart of defence and looked solid in both outings.

He has taken that form into the Euros this summer with Romania, putting in a standout performance in the 3-0 win over Ukraine, while almost scoring in the 2-0 defeat to Belgium this week.

Ange Postecoglou is a fan of Radu Dragusin

He may not have thrown him in at the deep end last season, but it appears Ange Postecoglou is a big fan of his January signing, waxing lyrical about Dragusin while on pundit duty for ITV this week.

In the build-up to Romania vs Belgium, the Spurs boss was asked about his thoughts on the centre-back, who he described as a ‘super kid’ who is always ‘brave’ with his passing out from the back.

Postecoglou said (ITV1 Romania vs Belgium 22/06/24): “He’s a super kid and a defender who loves defending. He’s a brave passer as well and is only 22-years-old. It’s super that we have him at Spurs.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham have the foundations of a solid centre-back roster in North London now. All we need is one more to come in and serve as Micky Van de Ven’s understudy.

I do suspect that Spurs will sign a left-footed or left-sided centre-back for this exact reason this summer.
