Postecoglou says Spurs medical team need to try ‘other strategies’ to get player fit again

Speaking to the press ahead of this weekend’s action, Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed Manor Solomon is not making progress in his recovery from a knee injury, and said the medical team are trying new things to come to a solution.

Spurs signed Manor Solomon on a free transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer, and the Israeli winger made a promising start to life in North London with two assists in his first five league games for the club (Transfermarkt).

Unfortunately, his season was cut short at the end of September when he suffered a meniscus injury. Solomon has not featured since and, despite hopes he may return in February and then this month, too, that return does not seem to be getting any closer.

The signing of Timo Werner has helped to plug that gap in the Spurs squad and will continue to do so until the end of the season. But, naturally, Ange Postecoglou would rather have all his players available and fit than have them in the medical room.

When will Manor Solomon be passed fit for Spurs?

In his latest press conference (via Football.London), Postecoglou offered an update on Solomon’s situation and revealed what his medical team are doing to alleviate the issues.

When asked about Solomon, he said: “[There has been] no real progress. He’s still not comfortable. The medical team are looking at other strategies now.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I genuinely do not believe we will see Manor Solomon again this season. At this rate, he is falling down the pecking order rapidly, too, with Werner looking good and talk of a new winger coming in the summer, too. I wouldn’t even be surprised if he ends up leaving the club at some point in the near future, maybe even this summer.
