Predicted Tottenham XI for Champions League clash against Marseille

Antonio Conte has a couple of selection dilemmas for the clash against Marseille but we expect the Italian to revert to a 3-4-3 this evening.

Tottenham’s Champions League campaign is on the line at Marseille this evening, with the Lilywhites needing a point in France to seal passage to the next round.

Spurs’ assistant head coach Cristian Stellini confirmed in a pre-match press conference that Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Cristian Romero are unavailable for the clash (Football.London).

Conte rested several of his key players for Tottenham’s clash at Bournemouth on Saturday, including the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Eric Dier and Ivan Perisic, although all three of them came on in the second half when Spurs were chasing the game.

We expect the Tottenham head coach to start the aforementioned three players in France and to line up with a 3-4-3, with Lucas Moura coming into the side in place of Oliver Skipp.

We also expect Conte to stick with Clement Lenglet in the middle of Tottenham’s back three and for Eric Dier to start at right centre-back.

Our predicted eleven: Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Clement Lenglet, Ben Davies, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ivan Perisic, Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min, Harry Kane.

I hope that Conte does stick with Lenglet in the middle of the back three after the Frenchman’s performance at the Vitality Stadium. While I do think having Dier in the middle would be preferable, given his leadership qualities, we cannot risk starting Sanchez in such an important game, which is why Lenglet has to play.
