Predicted Spurs XI to face Everton in their first 20/21 Premier League fixture

Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton at home in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign this weekend.

This will be our first chance to take a look at the starting eleven which Jose Mourinho has in mind for the new campaign, as well as who he includes on his bench.

We believe that his decisions will be largely influenced by who has played minutes in pre-season, as well as international fixtures this week.

Hugo Lloris will likely start between the sticks after appearing heavily in pre-season and representing France for the past week.

We predict that the familiar backline of Ben Davies, Eric Dier, and Toby Alderweireld will also be named by the Special One on opening day, with new signing Matt Doherty lining up in the right-wing-back position.

Fellow debutant, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be named in right central midfield in order to cover the gaps left by Doherty’s forward runs, while Winks will be used as a forward passer on the left.

Heung-min Son, Dele Alli, and Lucas Moura make up the three attacking midfielders/wingers due to their heavy involvement in pre-season under Mourinho. Harry Kane, of course, leads the line.

Unfortunately, Tanguy Ndombele misses out as he has just 45 minutes under his belt in pre-season, while Giovani Lo Celso is nowhere to be seen.
