Predicted Tottenham XI to face Liverpool on Sunday – No Kulusevski

We expect Antonio Conte to revert to a 3-5-2 on Sunday against Liverpool after Son Heung-min became the latest Spurs star to go down with an injury.

Tottenham are down to bare bones at the moment, particularly in the forward areas, with Dejan Kulsevski and Ricahrlison having been out with injuries.

To make matters worse, Son has now joined the pair on the sidelines after sustaining a fracture around his eye socket due to a nasty head collision with Marseille defender Chancel Mbemba on Tuesday.

That means that if Antonio Conte wants to stick with his preferred 3-4-3 formation, he will have to hand Bryan Gil his first start of the season or play Ivan Perisic as part of the front three.

In addition, Cristian Romero is expected to be out of action for ten more days (Gaston Edul), which likely rules him of Tottenham’s three remaining games before the mid-season break for the World Cup.

That leaves Conte with either the choice of bringing Davinson Sanchez into the team or sticking with Eric Dier at right centre-back and continuing with Clement Lenglet in the middle of the back three.

However, Fabrizio Romano did report this week that Dejan Kulusevski was set to return to the squad this weekend, although it was not confirmed whether he would be fit to start.

We expect the Italian to start with Dier, Lenglet and Davies at the back, while starting Lucas Moura alongside Harry Kane upfront.

Spurs Web’s predicted elven against Liverpool: Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Clement Lenglet, Ben Davies, Emerson Royal, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Ryan Sessegnon, Lucas Moura, Harry Kane.
