Predicted Tottenham XI to face Man City – Brennan Johnson out and Pedro Porro in

Tottenham Hotspur are set to welcome Pep Guardiola and co to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday as they look to make it four wins on the bounce. Let’s take a look at our predicted Tottenham XI to face Man City in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou‘s side are looking to do the double over Manchester City in the League this week, after a brace from Maddison, and goals from Porro and Johnson saw the Lilywhites win comfortably 4-0 back in November.

Predicted Tottenham XI to face Manchester City in the Premier League

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: Since his return from injury, Vicario has played twice and conceded a single goal. His saves against United helped the Lilywhites keep a clean sheet, while his early saves against Ipswich Town, kept Spurs in the game. If the N17 club are to get anything out of Wednesday’s clash, he would have to be on top of his game.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: Porro was given a much-needed rest on Saturday. He should be back fresh and fit this week to take on Manchester City.

Centre-back – Ben Davies: Just like Porro, Ben Davies did not feature last weekend. This saw Archie Gray feature in the defence ahead of the Welshman. If Davies is fit, then he could return to the XI.

Centre-back – Kevin Danso: The new signing has impressed since joining the Lilywhites, but it would be interesting to see how Danso fares in a game as big as this. With van de Ven and Romero still out, he should retain his spot in the starting XI.

Left-back – Djed Spence: Week in and week out, Djed Spence continues to prove that he is undroppable at the moment. Of course, Udogie was solid at the weekend, however, given Spence’s performances, he has to start against Man City.

Pivot midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: In the last few games, Bergvall has proven that he is much more consistent than Bissouma. The 18-year-old has impressed and could be handed a place in the starting eleven against Guardiola’s men.

Central midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: Bentancur’s last two outings have been much better than his display against Liverpool. Come Wednesday, his level should not drop.

Central midfielder – James Maddison: Maddison has been chipping in with goals and assists since his return against Manchester United. On Saturday, his one assist has now taken his goal contribution total to: ten goals and seven assists in 33 appearances. He will hope to inspire another victory against Man City.

Left midfielder – Heung-min Son: Son’s brace of assists against Ipswich Town, took his goals and assists tally into double figures. He now has ten goals and ten assists this season, and he would be hoping to add to those numbers when he takes on a familiar foe this game week.

Striker – Mathys Tel: It was a rather quiet outing against Ipswich Town on Saturday for Tel. However, he will have to continue as the main striker as both Solanke and Richarlison remain sidelined.

Right midfielder – Dejan Kulusevski: Kulusevski’s numbers against Manchester City have been impressive since he moved to Spurs. The Swede has played six times against the Citizens and has only failed to score or assist on two occasions.
