Predicted Tottenham XI to start against Brentford on Boxing Day – Kane returns

Tottenham Hotspur are back in competitive action on Boxing Day with a festive trip to Brentford following the resumption of Premier League football.

The Spurs players are now starting to return from international duty, with Hugo Lloris, Ivan Perisic, and Cristian Romero still in action this weekend in Qatar.

We believe that Conte will name a strong XI to face Brentford, despite the interruption of the World Cup this winter, with most of his senior players being fit enough to take part.

Hugo Lloris returns in goal, despite making the final in Qatar – helped largely due to the fact he is a goalkeeper and fitness is not as much of a factor.

In defence, Cristian Romero does not make the cut as it’s simply too quick of a turnaround for an outfield player, so Clement Lenglet, Eric Dier, and Davinson Sanchez make the XI.

Matt Doherty continues at left-wing-back, unless Ryan Sessegnon makes a strong enough recovery, while Djed Spence starts at right-wing-back – although the same can be said of Emerson Royal.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Yves Bissouma start in midfield, with Rodrigo Bentancur both injured and banned for the fixture. And up front, we finally have that tried-and-tested trio of Heung-min Son, Harry Kane, and Dejan Kulusevski!
