Premier League announce who will be officiating the North London derby

The Premier League have announced that Craig Pawson will take charge of Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

Spurs head into the game needing a result on the back of two back-to-back 3-0 losses to Chelsea and Crystal Palace, which have completely blunted the momentum from the promising start to the season.

The Lilywhites know that they will be overtaken by the Gunners in the table should they lose the North London derby.

It has now been confirmed that the experienced Pawson will take charge of the clash.

The 42-year-old has handed 13 yellow cards in 4 Premier League matches this season, which works out to 3.25 bookings per game, and one red card which he produced to Leeds defender Pascal Struijk against Liverpool last month (WhoScored).

Across his Premier League career, Pawson gives 3.43 yellow cards per match and but he averages 0.66 fouls per tackle, which indicates that he is not shy of blowing the whistle.

Ian Hussin and Dan Robathan will be Pawson’s assistants for the match while Peter Bankes will be the fourth official.

Stuart Attwell will be the main VAR in charge of the match and he will be supported by Constantine Hatzidakis.

Spurs Web Opinion

A defeat on Sunday could see the pressure really start to pile on Nuno early into his reign at Spurs. We need to come away with at least a point but our record at the Emirates does not fill me with optimism.
