Premier League boss refuses to rule out a move for Danny Rose

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has confirmed that he would be interested in bringing Danny Rose to St James’ Park.

The Tottenham Hotspur left-back has been the subject of a reported fall out with head coach Jose Mourinho last Sunday at Hotspur Way when he was left out of the squad for the trip to Watford (Daily Mail).

Mourinho revealed after the draw at Vicarage Road that Rose had suffered a slight back problem (Standard) with The Athletic claiming that the England international was fit enough to be considered for selection.

Rose was also left out of the squad for Wednesday night’s 2-1 victory against Norwich City despite not being mentioned in the club’s injury bulletin on Friday.

Bruce was asked about the possibility of signing the 29-year-old and refused to rule out an approach.

The Newcastle boss told The Chronicle when asked about Rose: ”It would be wrong for me to sit and talk about other people’s players.

“He’s a quality player and a class act the kid. Whether it’s possible, who knows?”

The former Leeds player is said to earn £60,000 a week in North London and is not prepared to accept a lower wage elsewhere.
