Premier League club owner admits Spurs-linked star wants to leave

Crystal Palace owner, Steve Parish has admitted that reported Tottenham target, Wilfried Zaha wants to leave the club this summer.

Parish claimed that Zaha’s desire to leave and challenge himself at another club was no secret in the transfer market this year.

Goal recently reported that Tottenham and Everton were both interested in the Palace attacker ahead of the new season.

However, Parish added that the deal also has to be right for the Eagles. If Zaha wants to join a club and the bid is fair, Parish claimed that Palace would look at it.

Zaha is said to be worth around £40m in the current transfer market, which would represent a healthy profit for Crystal Palace who paid under £4m for him back in 2015.

Last season, the winger managed to score 11 goals and record two assists in 31 games across all competitions (TransferMarkt).

Parish said: “We understand his position. It’s no secret that he would like to challenge himself.

“But it has to be right for the football club. He understands that as well.

“If those two things collide then we will have to look at it. But right now, we are two days into the transfer window so it’s a bit early to talk about it.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

This is a transfer to stay away from for me. I can see Zaha going to Everton or Arsenal but I want Spurs to look towards a younger attacker with a higher ceiling than Zaha this summer.
