Premier League club prepared to chase Spurs star until deadline day

Manchester City are fully expecting their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to go down to the final day of the transfer window, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that Kane’s desire to move to the Etihad could prove to be a key factor in their bid to land him before the window closes.

The Premier League champions had hoped to offer the North Londoners a fee of under £100million with the belief that Spurs would also accept players in exchange, however, this has proven not to be the case.

Spurs owner Joe Lewis is reported to have been left annoyed with Kane over the way the forward has tried to secure a move to City (Daily Mail).

The Athletic claimed last week that Daniel Levy is more determined than ever to keep hold of his star striker and are said to have informed Kane they expect him to remain at the club for the upcoming season, despite the intense speculation involving City.

City are likely to hold out all hope of trying to land Kane up until the final moments of the window after losing Sergio Aguero at the end of last season.

Spurs hold all of the power in relation to Kane’s future given the fact that the England captain still has three years left to run on his existing contract. It would be a huge signal of intent from Levy if he was to snub such a big offer from Pep Guardiola’s side.
