Premier League confirm match officials for Spurs vs Arsenal clash

The Premier League have confirmed that Paul Tierney will take charge of Tottenham’s clash against Arsenal in Thursday evening’s north London derby.

The encounter is set to have plenty at stake with both teams battling to claim a place in the top four and make a return to the Champions League.

It is Arsenal that currently hold a slender advantage over Spurs, who are two points behind the Gunners in fifth place in the table.

But the fixture on Thursday has significant consequences with Mikel Arteta’s side able to secure their place in the Champions League if they take all three points from the fixture.

And ahead of the crucial game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Premier League has announced that Tierney has been appointed as the match referee in N17.

Tierney last oversaw proceedings involving Spurs in January when Antonio Conte’s men fell to a 2-0 defeat when they visited Chelsea (Soccer Base).

The league has also named Peter Bankes as the fourth official, while VAR duties will be taken up by Mike Dean and assistant Lee Betts.
