Premier League defender admits Spurs star gave him sleepless nights

Heung-min Son is finally getting the attention he deserves for his fantastic run of form, having scored 11 times in his last 15 Premier League outings.

The South Korean has been one of the most unsung players in the top flight over the past couple of seasons and although Spurs fans have always appreciated his efforts, it seems that the wider footballing public are now sitting up and taking notice.

Although his form suffered early in the season, he has been on the top of his game lately, creating and finishing off chances at will.

The 26-year-old’s impressive run of form has ensured that Tottenham have been able to continue winning games in the absence of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Cardiff City defender Sol Bamba has now lavished praise on Son and insisted that he is Tottenham’s best player.

Bamba who has had a solid first season in the Premier League with the Welsh side admitted that Son gave him nightmares when he came up against him earlier in the season.

The Ivorian also said that the movement of Tottenham’s front four is impossible to handle when they are all at the top of their games.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 34-year-old said: “Wow…absolutely ( Son gives me sleepless nights) he hurt us when we played against them along with Harry Kane and Eriksen and Dele Alli, their movement is unbelievable and if you stop one the other one will hurt you.

“I think he (Son) is Tottenham’s best player by a country mile as he has been unbelievable all season and considering he has been away on international duty and the way he has come back is remarkable so for me he is Tottenham’s best player.”
