Premier League legend hits out at Kane critics and labels him ‘brilliant and intelligent’

Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane is undoubtedly one of the greatest centre forwards in world football right now, and has been for some time.

Kane has proven himself season after season to be a goal scoring machine, with no prejudice against using his left foot, right foot, head, or penalty skills to find the back of the net.

However, what he has added to his game in recent seasons is the ability to drop deep, pick up the ball, and find a pass.

What is impressive is the accuracy and quality at which he passes the ball, whether it be a 50-yard ping to the overlapping full back, or a delicate ball in behind as he did for England on Friday.

Everyone wants their centre forward in and around the box, being selfish and scoring goals, but the ability to change it up is what makes Kane one of the best.

Alan Shearer certainly agrees, as he said in The Sun: “We should just mention England captain Harry Kane, too. I will say he never gets stick from me when he’s “selfish” in a Spurs shirt, strikers score goals by shooting! But the way in which he is dropping off and bringing other players into the game is another sign of a brilliant and intelligent footballer.”
