Premier League legend weighs in on Kane best finisher in the world argument

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane once again proved he is the man for the big occasions this week after proving a last gasp goal and assist to book England a spot in the UEFA Nations League semi finals.

After the match, England manager Gareth Southgate labelled him as the best finisher in world football (The Mirror).

This comment has sparked much debate over whether Kane is actually the best around right now, with some arguing that he isn’t even the best in the Premier League.

Over the past few years, Kane has collected two Premier League golden boots, as well as a World Cup golden boot from Russia in the summer.

The fact that he is a world class forward is out of the question, but is he the very best in the world?

Premier League legend Robbie Fowler weighed in during SkySports’ The Debate.

He argued that Kane wasn’t even the best in his own league, yet alone the world.

Fowler said: “I don’t think he is (the best in the world). In terms of being a top class striker there’s no doubt about that, but in terms of being the best goalscorer, I think there may be a few other top class players out there.

“I don’t even think he’s the best in the Premier League, if I’m being honest. I think Aguero’s an outstanding finisher, you mentioned Salah who’s a wonderful finisher too, but I know why Gareth’s said it.”
