Premier League striker reveals he has asked Harry Kane for advice

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has revealed that he has already sought out Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane for some advice after he received his first call up for the England national team.

Watkins, who has scored twelve goals in all competitions for Villa this season decided to speak to Kane to learn more about how he trains and looks after himself.

The pair came up against each other on Sunday when Kane had the upper hand having helped the North Londoners to a 2-0 win, having scored from the penalty spot.

Kane has somewhat of a track record of passing his advice onto younger players having spoken to midfielder Oliver Skipp prior to his loan move to Norwich City (Pink Un).

The 25-year-old will be hoping to earn his first cap for World Cup qualifiers against San Marino, Albania and Poland.

Watkins only made his Premier League debut in September having joined Villa from Brentford and had been prevously linked with a move to Tottenham (Football Insider).

He told Sky Sports: “I spoke to him a couple of times. I just asked him how he trains, how he looks after himself, just to get some inside knowledge on how he works,” Watkins told a press conference.

“He is someone I can definitely learn off on a day-to-day basis.”
