“Pressure is going to be on Liverpool” – Paul Merson predicts Spurs’ trip to Anfield

Tottenham will take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, in what will be a big game for both teams.

While Liverpool have to get three points to maintain the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table, Spurs are involved in a massive dog fight for the top four places.

With only four points separating Spurs, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea, Tottenham will need to pick up a result on Sunday to ensure that they retain the upper hand in the race.

If Tottenham lose and Man Ud and Arsenal win, Spurs could find themselves two points behind the Gunners and tied on points with the Red Devils after this weekend.

Spurs come into the game on poor form but have had a long break since their last defeat to Southampton.

Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson has predicted the game for Sky Sports, and the 51-year-old has said that he expects the Reds to beat Spurs 2-1 even though it will be a tough game.

Merson told Sky Sports, “The pressure is going to be on Liverpool, draws are no good with Manchester City in front.

“It’s going to be a tight, entertaining game with Liverpool needing to win adding another layer – if Liverpool are drawing with 20 minutes to go they have to go for it.

“But I think they will get the job done, cranking up the pressure on Spurs in the race for the top four.”
