Preston’s shocking stats this season show why Troy Parrott is struggling

Preston North End’s shocking stats this season shed a light on Troy Parrott’s struggles, with the club having scored just four goals in the Championship so far.

Parrott seemed to come of age during his loan spell at MK Dons last season and the striker would have been hoping to build on that at Preston this season.

However, the Spurs academy graduate has not found the transition from League One to the Championship to be straightforward, having found the back of the net just once in 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

While that might seem poor on the face of it, Preston’s shocking numbers in front of goal this season suggest that the 20-year-old is not entirely to blame.

Despite finding themselves in eleventh place in the Championship table with 16 points on the board, Ryan Lowe’s side have scored just four goals in their 12 Championship games so far while also conceding just four.

These numbers clearly suggest that it is Preston’s style of play that is to blame rather than Parrott. I would not be surprised if Spurs recall the 20-year-old in January and send him on loan to a different club if the situation at the Deepdale Stadium does not change.
