‘Probably Harry doesn’t know’ – Heung-min Son opens up on possible Kane exit at Tottenham

Son Heung-min has suggested that Harry Kane himself probably does not know if he will still be at Tottenham next season.

Over recent weeks, German outlets have certainly seemed quite confident that Kane will end up at Bayern Munich this summer, with Bild reporting over the weekend that the striker’s wife, Kate, has even been to Munich to look for a new house.

Meanwhile, multiple outlets have reported over the last 24 hours that Tottenham’s majority owner, Joe Lewis, has informed Daniel Levy that the 29-year-old will have to be sold this summer if he does not sign a new contract (Daily Mail).

Kane has maintained his silence through this saga and was also named in the starting eleven by Ange Postecoglou in the club’s second pre-season friendly against Leicester City before the game was eventually called off due to water logging on the pitch at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok.

Son is impressed by how professional Kane is

Son has now insisted that his strike partner has remained completely professional despite the speculation that has been doing the rounds about his future.

When asked if the media reports have affected Kane, the South Korean told Football.London: “Harry has been fantastic for me. He’s always professional, always working hard. He’s never showed any thoughts about himself.

“There’s so much news going around it’s also not easy for him, but he’s captain at the moment. He’s the captain and he’s working with the team.

“He doesn’t show any distraction. He is not bothered you know. He loves being here. I love him as a player. I fully respect him. He’s one of the best strikers in the world, has been for five, six, seven years in a row. The decision will be between the club and Harry and we have to respect it.

“Harry has never shown any distraction. He’s always one of the hardest-working guys, working hard as a striker, sprinting back when we lose the ball. He is a great example.

“I can’t say anything about the final decision because I don’t know anything. Probably Harry doesn’t know. We just have to wait. Playing with him is always fun, it’s a joy. Watching him training there is a lot of things to learn.”

Kane’s professionalism cannot be questioned but the fact that he is maintaining his silence through this affair is clear evidence that he wants to leave the club this summer.

At the same time, one can understand why the 29-year-old does not want to push for a move as his contract situation means that he could join the club of his choice on a free transfer in a year’s time if Spurs decide to hang on to him this summer.
