‘Probably not’ – Journalist makes prediction about Harry Kane leaving Spurs

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth believes there is no doubt that Mauricio Pochettino would want to reunite with Harry Kane at Chelsea this summer.

Although Chelsea have not yet confirmed the appointment of Pochettino, it has been suggested that the announcement is expected to be made before the end of this week (GiveMeSport).

It certainly has not gone down well with some Spurs fans that Tottenham reportedly did not even approach the 51-year-old regarding a return to N17 (talkSPORT), thus allowing him to join their London rivals.

Sheth has now suggested that it is possible the Tottenham fans might be hit with a double whammy of also losing their star player to the Blues.

Reports over the last week continue to indicate that Manchester United are leading the race for Kane’s signature, with the Red Devils said to be hopeful of striking a deal worth £80m plus add-ons for the 29-year-old (Daily Star).

Sheth is in no doubt that Chelsea would be sniffing around Kane and added that seeing the England captain move to Old Trafford might be the best-case scenario for Spurs fans.

The journalist has now told GiveMeSportTottenham fans probably wouldn’t like it. They don’t want him to go, but if he’s going to stay in the Premier League, United would probably be the best of the worst-case scenario for Tottenham as far as they’re concerned.

“Would Chelsea want him? Would [Mauricio] Pochettino want him? 100% yes. Would he go? Probably not. Two reasons, Tottenham probably would not want to do any business with Chelsea and I don’t think Kane would do that to the Tottenham fans either.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Despite Kane’s relationship with Pochettino, the striker would not want to join Chelsea as he would be aware that it would ruin his legacy at Tottenham.

There is also no way that Levy would consider selling the 29-year-old to the Blues. So, Man Utd remain the striker’s only realistic destination this summer if he does leave Spurs
