Prolific Ivorian linked with Spurs switch

Tottenham are reportedly in the market for Ivorian striker, Seydou Doumbia.

Doumbia is expected to be the man to partner Didier Drogba at the World Cup, and Spurs have apparently sent scouts to watch in the 21 year old in action for Young Boys of Berne.

With Roman Pavlyuchenko’s exit looking more and more likely as we get closer to the transfer window, Redknapp could well be in the market for a forward and the Daily Mirror believes Doumbia could be that man.

He has already helped himself to 16 goals as Young Boys have risen to the top of the Swiss Premier Division.

CSKA Moscow and Rubin Kazan are also believed to be interested, with both reportedly having bids of £8m turned down already.

However, the player is thought to prefer a move to England over Russia, should the opportunity arise.
