Prolific striker linked with Tottenham rules out January transfer

Red Bull Salzburg striker Karim Adeyemi, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has ruled out a January exit from the club.

Adeyemi established himself as a regular in Salzburg’s starting lineup last season but it is his performances this campaign that have shot the youngster into the limelight.

The 19-year-old has scored 14 goals in 17 league appearances for the Austrian club and registered an additional three goals and two assists in the group stages of the Champions League (Transfermarkt).

It was reported at the start of last month that the German international was attracting interest from clubs across the continent, with Spurs and Newcastle said to be keen on bringing the player to the Premier League.

SPORT1 then revealed that the young striker was also wanted by Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

However, Adeyemi has now declared he will be at Salzburg until the end of the season and admitted that he is looking forward to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

The striker told Sky Sports Austria: “Nothing is fixed yet and I’ll be at Salzburg next year and that’s where my focus is absolutely.

“My head is here in Salzburg and I’m looking forward to the Champions League with Salzburg. We want to get everything out of that.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There will likely be a whole lot of interest in Adeyemi next summer as the youngster will only have two years left on his contract at Salzburg at the end of the season.

I would not be surprised if Spurs renew their interest in the teenager next summer, although that could depend on other factors like potential incomings in January and Kane’s future.
