‘Proud moment’ – Spurs forward admits delight after agreeing new contract

Dane Scarlett has taken to social media to express at delight after penning his first professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

Scarlett has been on fire in front of goal for the Under-18s this season, registering 15 goals and 4 assists in 14 matches so far.

He has been rewarded for his form with three senior appearances by Jose Mourinho this season, with the youngster coming for a couple of cameos in the Europa League and also making his Premier League bow.

The Tottenham boss has raved about the teenager, comparing him to Manchester United star Marcus Rashford and admitting that he plans on promoting him to the first-team next season.

Tottenham announced yesterday that Scarlett has signed his first professional contract with the club after turning 17 earlier this week.

The deal sees the forward being tied to his boyhood club until 2023.

The youngster took to social media to admit that it is a special moment for him and his family and thanked the coaches who helped him along the way.

It is clear that Mourinho and his coaching staff see Scarlet as a future first-team star. There can be no better example for the youngster to look up to and learn from than Harry Kane.
