PSG midfield man responds to reported Spurs interest

Tottenham Hotspur have already been linked to a number of players in this summer transfer window, with the emphasis on attacking midfielders after Christian Eriksen’s recent comments.

Eriksen told Danish media that he is looking for a new challenge next season and fancies a step up from Tottenham.

With such big shoes to fill, Spurs will obviously be keen to find a replacement for the Great Dane if he is to leave the club, however, it seems as if it won’t be Julian Draxler.

Spurs were linked with a £35m move for the PSG man, as the French giants were said to be willing to sell in order to comply with FFP (Daily Star). Draxler scored five and set up 12 last season for PSG.

However, Draxler has now revealed that he has no intention of leaving Paris Saint-Germain, and has had no word from the club that such a move will happen (Metro).

He said: “I cannot say anything about that, because I have no intention of leaving the club.

“I also heard nothing from club side. I have not talked to anyone, I know nothing.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

He would have been a bargain at £35m, but no great loss for Spurs, as they have been linked to numerous other stars. The likes of Maddison, Lo Celso, Fernandes, and Van de Beek spring to mind.
