Pundit backs Tottenham signing to adapt ‘very very quickly’

Many Tottenham fans are excited coming into the new season after the club signed two of the most highly-rated midfielders in Europe in Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

Ndombele, in particular, was said to be courted by many other clubs included by Manchester City (Evening Standard).

Mauricio Pochettino has already pleaded patience with the 22-year-old as he adapts from the transition of playing in the Premier League (Evening Standard).

The midfielder made a fantastic start to his Tottenham career, scoring an impressive goal on his Premier League debut against Aston Villa as he helped the team come back from a goal down to win 3-1.

Former England defender Danny Mills has suggested that the goal will help his confidence and said that he expected the 23-year-old to get acclimatised to the Premier League rather quickly.

Speaking to Football Insider, Mills said, “I think he’d (Ndombele) say himself that the Premier League would take some getting used to, it’s relentless, it’s as simple as that.

“It’s the pace, the physicality, the lack of time on the ball is not easy to deal with but he will get better.

“It was a fabulous strike (against Villa) and players of great quality adapt very, very quickly and I’m sure he will be one of those.”

It will likely take the Frenchman some time to get used to his teammates and a new way of playing and so it is important that we as fans are patient with him.

One thing that will help Ndombele is the fact that he was signed early in the window and has had the benefit of having a full pre-season at his new club.
