Pundit claims a move to Spurs would be ‘the best fit’ in the PL for Serie A star

Don Hutchison has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur would be the best fit for Paulo Dybala in the Premier League, insisting the Argentine is not the right kind of player for the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Dybala’s current contract with Juventus runs out in the summer and the Serie A club’s CEO Maurizio Arrivabene has admitted the forward will not be renewing his deal at the Allianz Stadium (TuttoMercatoWeb).

90 min have claimed that the 28-year-old’s agent is in contact with Tottenham ahead of a potential summer transfer but added that the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City are also keeping an eye on his situation.

In addition, the Juve star is also thought to be on the radars of Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Barcelona (Sky Italia).

Hutchinson believes that if Dybala wants to come to the Premier League, a move to Spurs would be the best fit for him, insisting the forward could play a similar role to the one Christian Eriksen performed for the Lilywhites.

The pundit told Premier League Productions (22/03/22 at 2:10 pm): “Paulo Dybala is a really, really good player. A technical player. Tottenham, I think would be the best fit for him. It just depends if he is fit enough and can play most games in the Premier League.

“It’s a different ask compared to Serie A and he hasn’t played too many games for Juve this season. He has been in and out of the side. They can’t seem to build the team around him. Contract talks have broken down.

“In an ideal world, he would like to stay in Serie A. But, if he comes to England, then I don’t see him going to Manchester City, Liverpool or Man United etc.

“So, the best fit, for him, would be a club like Tottenham where he could be their Christian Eriksen a few years ago. He has to play as a ten.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I can only see Dybala playing on the right side of the front three in Antonio Conte’s set-up. However, with Kulusevski having hit the ground running at Tottenham, I do wonder if it would make sense for the club to move for the Argentine.
