Former Hull City defender, Alex Bruce, believes Jack Grealish, who has previously been linked with a move to Spurs, could cost as much as £90 million this summer.

The Aston Villa star was on Tottenham’s radar over a year ago, with the Sun claiming that the Lilywhites could have signed him for just £6 million back in the summer of 2018.

Since then, the midfielder has gone from strength to strength, first impressing in the Championship and helping Villa win promotion before going up another gear in the top-flight this season.

On the back of his performances this campaign, interest in the 24-year-old has intensified, with Manchester United reportedly ready to pay up to £70 million for Grealish’s services this summer (Daily Star).

Bruce feels that the Villa star is worth even more than that as he has been one of the best players in the whole division this campaign, despite playing for a relegation-threatened side.

Speaking to Football Insider, Bruce said: “I think he’s worth £80-90 million, I have to be honest.

“I think he’s a top, top player. Arguably, he’s been one of the shining lights, the outstanding performers in the Premier League this season.

“I personally would put him in the top three performers in the Premier League, I think he’s been outstanding considering he’s been playing in a team that’s been struggling. I really think that highly of him.

“He’s matured into an excellent player. He’s improving year on year. Whatever price tag a club pays, it’s going to be a top, top fee because he’s a top, top player.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Villa were said to be demanding £70 million for Grealish before the COVID-19 crisis, if anything, his value would have only gone down since then. Whatever price Villa demand, we are unlikely to return for him this summer. I believe Grealish will probably end up at Manchester United.
