Pundit claims it may be time for Spurs to part ways with fan-favourite player

Former Tottenham Hotspur player turned football pundit Jamie O’Hara has taken to Twitter to claim that Harry Kane should be allowed to leave the club in search of trophies.

Kane has been with Tottenham his whole career, remaining loyal to the club for many years.

He is now the club’s all-time leading goalscorer after surpassing Jimmy Greaves’ long-standing record this year (GOAL).

While he may be confirmed as a club legend, there is still the issues of a lack of silverware plaguing Kane’s legacy.

This season has been yet another frustrating campaign with no chance of a trophy at the end of it.

Kane himself is having a fantastic individual season, with 22 goals in all competitions for Spurs so far (Transfermarkt).

However, the 29-year-old’s current contract expires next summer and there is growing speculation that he may look to move away from Spurs in pursuit of silverware.

Manchester United are thought to be keen on signing the England captain in the summer (Manchester Evening News).

O’Hara recently told Sky Sports that if Manchester United want to win the title next year, they will indeed need to bring Kane in.

And now, the pundit has followed up his comments with a tweet suggesting Kane should move on from Tottenham.

He said: “I said I’d love him to stay and be our main man forever but 12 months left and no trophies on the horizon, maybe it’s time we let him move on.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Unless something changes drastically at this football club soon, Harry Kane is very unlikely to win a trophy with us unfortunately.

No one is qutie sure just how important Kane values the idea of winning silverware, but we are sure to find out in the summer when he makes a decision on his future. Fingers crossed he stays with Spurs.
