Pundit claims Levy was right to listen to Conte about player this summer

Former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique has said that Tottenham’s decision to listen to Antonio Conte and snap up Ivan Perisic over the summer has already been proved right.

Perisic left Inter Milan in the summer after his contract ran out and signed for Spurs, being the first of the seven new players to arrive through the door at the North London club during the transfer window.

The 33-year-old has had a promising start to life at Tottenham, having already provided four assists across all competitions so far (Transfermarkt).

The Croat currently has the best cross success rate across the Premier League this season, with 48.3% of crosses finding a teammate in the box (WhoScored).

When Tottenham snapped up Perisic, some questioned whether he would be able to adapt to the demands of the Premier League, given his age, but Enrique believes the experienced wide-man has already proven himself a ‘great’ acquisition for the North London club.

Here’s what the former Reds star posted on social media about the former Inter man:

Perisic’s signing was always a banker, particularly given the system that Conte employs. Having said that, as good as he has been going forward, the Croat has had some nervy moments defensively. Let us hope he is able to eradicate those as he gets more accustomed to his new teammates and the intensity of the Premier League.
