Pundit claims Man Utd should prioritise move for Tottenham first-team player

Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson has urged Manchester United to make Harry Kane their main priority this summer and abandon their other targets.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks with a £200million move to Old Trafford being touted for the Spurs star this summer (Daily Mail).

However, there have been reports over recent days suggesting that the Red Devils are unlikely to move for the Spurs star.

Sky Sports first revealed that the 26-year-old was not on United’s radar this summer while Bleacher Report claimed that although the former Premier League champions are admirers of Kane, they will not have the transfer funds to pursue him this summer as they are instead prioritising moves for Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish.

However, Robson believes Kane has to be United’s first choice this summer rather than any other transfer target.

When asked who the Old Trafford outfit should prioritise, the former Arsenal star told ESPN FC: “I would go for Harry Kane, United need a centre-forward, someone who can lead the line, play with his back to goal, score goals, be good in the air.

“They don’t have that kind of centre-forward who can do that. [Odion] Ighalo did a good job for them in the four or five games he played, but that’s something they need.

“They need a centre-forward who can lead the line, Harry Kane does that.He can score goals out of nothing, he can link up with play, he can be the all-round centre-forward.

“If you prioritise one player, it has to be Harry Kane for Manchester United.”

Spurs Web Opinion

If Manchester United felt that they had a chance of landing Kane this summer, have no doubts that they would do everything in their power to do so. It is clear from the fact that they are prioritising moves for Grealish and Sancho that they do not believe they have any chance of striking a deal with Daniel Levy this summer.
