Pundit claims Mourinho has added ‘zero to Tottenham’ since arriving

Former Liverpool forward Stan Collymore has asserted that Spurs haven’t shown any signs of improvement since Jose Mourinho arrived at the club two months ago.

He also added that the Spurs head coach deserves more criticism from the media than he has received so far.

Tottenham found themselves in 14th in the Premier League table when Mourinho arrived in November and a run of good results in his first few weeks in charge helped the Lilywhites climb up the table.

However, the team’s form has dropped off considerably over recent weeks, as Spurs are winless in four Premier League games.

With just a little over a third of the season left, Tottenham face an uphill battle if they wish to retain Champions League qualification for the fifth season in a row.

Collymore believes that Mourinho has not added anything new to this Spurs squad and has done nothing to show that he deserves to be backed with new additions in the transfer window.

In his column for the Mirror, the former England striker wrote, “When will Jose Mourinho start to get the criticism he deserves?

“He has added zero to Tottenham since taking over from Mauricio Pochettino but for some reason, everyone is talking about him getting a January war chest. Why?”

Collymore clearly doesn’t recall how terrible we were in the final few months under Pochettino. Not only did we look devoid of ideas going forward but we were also shocking defensively. It was always going to take time for Mourinho to get his ideas across and judging him so harshly after just two months in charge is unfair.
