Pundit claims Premier League star is ‘perfect’ for Antonio Conte at Spurs

Jamie O’Hara has claimed that Wolves winger Adama Traore would be a perfect signing for Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

Tottenham are said to be in talks over acquiring the Spaniard this month, having failed to lure him to North London over the summer.

Antonio Conte has allegedly shortlisted Traore as an option to fill in at right wing-back for his side, with reports now emerging that Spurs have opened talks with Wolves and a bid around £20 million may be enough to tempt the West Midlands outfit into a sale.

Former Wolves and Spurs midfielder O’Hara believes the 25-year-old would be a ‘superb signing’ for the N17 side and Conte’s preferred style of football but reiterated that his end product will be something that needs to be worked on.

Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “I think Adama Traore would be a fantastic signing. I watched them [against Manchester United] and I thought Wolves were superb.

“I don’t know if their gaffer [Bruno Lage] fancies Traore. Every time he got the ball, the manager looked like he was upset with what he was trying.

“But, for me, it’s perfect for how Conte wants to train. That counter-attacking style. Direct football. Get it forward early. Get in behind teams.

“And we know how quick Traore is. How lethal he is with the ball at his feet, so I think it would be a superb signing. His end product is an issue. Something he has to improve on, that’s why he hasn’t played for the huge clubs.”

For the reported £20 million asking price, it seems like a pretty good risk to take. He has untapped potential that still hasn’t been realised yet and Conte could really unlock that.

The goal contributions is a slight issue, but his presence and impact on the pitch is something that can overlook that.
